Disability becomes a barrier only when society allows it. 🚪

Judy Heumann said it best.
When systems are designed with care, people gain independence, dignity, and choice.
Accessibility isn’t extra work. It’s how participation becomes possible. ♿

💬 Ever felt dizzy or uncomfortable because a website moved too much?

For some users, animations and motion effects can cause real physical discomfort.
Designing with reduced motion helps create calmer, more inclusive experiences.
✨ Comfort is part of accessibility.

India just changed OTT forever.
Accessibility is no longer optional. 🎬♿

India’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has mandated that all new OTT content must include accessibility features like:
• Closed Captions (CC)
• Indian Sign Language (ISL)
• Audio Descriptions (AD)

Platforms now have 36 months to comply.
This is a big step toward making streaming work for everyone.

💬 The web looks modern, but many users still hit barriers instantly

Accessibility gaps are far more common than most people realize, even on well-known sites
✨Building inclusive experiences isn’t about perfection, it’s about intention and action

Accessibility shouldn't be an afterthought or a "nice to have." My realization was that if the my posting tool doesn't put Alt Text front and center, I will skip it. In Fediverse Composer Studio, it's step one. #AccessibilityMatters #UXDesign #Fediverse

💬 Stories create understanding, action creates change.

On International Epilepsy Day 2026, we’re reminded that awareness starts with listening.
Turning real stories into real action helps reduce stigma and build safer, more inclusive spaces.

💜Understanding leads to impact.

I am bifocals old. The favicon for a website looks like the poop emoji with giant eyes.

My gut said that's not right. Used my phone camera to zoom in. The favicon is the owner with the white shirt being what I saw as eyes. #accessibilitymatters

💬 “Accessibility will make my website heavy.”

Actually… the opposite.

Good accessibility means cleaner structure, better performance, and faster pages.
⚡ Better UX. Better speed. Better outcomes.

A $5.15M settlement - but still no guarantee of access? 👀♿
Money isn’t accessibility. And the DOJ is calling it out.

In Alcazar v. Fashion Nova, the Department of Justice is urging a federal court to reject a proposed ADA website settlement because it doesn’t meaningfully ensure improved access for people with vision disabilities.

Department of Justice Opposes Unfair Class Action Settlement Involving Accessibility of Website under the ADA

Today, the Department of Justice filed a Statement of Interest arguing that a proposed class action settlement involving an apparel company’s website would afford little value to consumers with vision disabilities while generously compensating attorneys.
