Accessibility in action!

PCB is proud to highlight Chris Hunsinger, Golden Triangle Council of the Blind President, as she tests Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s new Ready2Ride fare card vending machines.

Chris is helping evaluate accessibility features for riders who are blind or have low vision.

Accessible transportation matters. Fare machines, kiosks, apps, and transit systems should be usable by everyone.

🌐💙 Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day from PCB!

Today reminds us that accessibility must be part of everything we create.

Accessibility means alt text, screen reader friendly design, labeled buttons, keyboard navigation, accessible PDFs, audio description, clear headings, and good contrast.

Accessibility is not extra. It is a right, not a luxury.

Thank you for making PRC’s conference such a success!

The Philadelphia Regional Chapter’s Living Your Best Accessible Life conference brought together the blind & low vision community for a day of fellowship, resources, empowerment & connection.

The turnout was incredible. It was truly standing room only.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, presented, supported, shared resources & helped make the day possible.

🌈 Toegankelijkheid bij Pride The Hague (English below)

Iedereen is welkom. Er is ruimte voor jou.

🌈 Accessibility at Pride The Hague

Pride should be a place where as many people as possible can feel welcome, safe, and seen.

That is why, during Saturday’s Pride Walk and Pride Party, we are giving extra attention to accessibility and comfort. This includes a wheelchair-accessible route, a wheelchair platform at the party terrain, a quiet space to take a break, free earplugs, accessible and gender-neutral toilets, and a sign language interpreter during speeches and performances.

Koekamp is also right next to Den Haag Centraal, and you can join or step out of the walk at different points along the route if that works better for you.

Do you have questions about accessibility or is there something you would like to coordinate with us? Feel free to send us a message or email [email protected] . We are happy to help.

Everyone is welcome. There is space for you.

🇲🇽 Happy Cinco de Mayo from the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind!

Today we celebrate culture, history, community, and connection.

As communities gather for festivals, meals, music, and events, accessibility matters. Inclusive planning helps people who are blind or have low vision fully take part in the celebration.

Culture and community should be open to everyone.

Hey @404mediaco!

Awesome work as always on this article!

As I was reading it, however, I noticed this green area at the bottom of the page. This combination of white on bright green is absolutely unreadable to me, and I am quite well sighted.

Y'all the best - keep it real!
