In Japan, people frequently say "Dangerous" while I walk with a white cane, yet in my entire life, I have rarely been in true danger. The few times I actually was, the warnings were polite and calm. I wish people would realize that saying "Dangerous!" is not a substitute for a genuine, helpful warning.

Olen niin iloinen näistä Mastodon 4.6:n saavutettavuusparannuksista

Siihen tulee mm.

EDIT2: Suomi puuttuu kielilistalta. Kielivalikoima on todella pieni.

Funny, but also worrying at the same time - voices from the #lift are an #accessbility requirement so /should/ be correct/working, and if they are not it makes you wonder if #maintenance of the lift is being skimped on (and thats safety critical building #infrastructure!)

Those in the #colorblind and #accessbility spaces, what colors do you use instead of red, yellow, green?

I’m doing some work in the #cybersecurity and programming space and realized red, yellow, green doesn’t work well for color coding things like severity. A brief search shows signal lights try to use shape rather than different colors. Certain systems support Unicode symbols like info, warning, and stop, but not all so I feel a colorblind standardized color code fall back would be useful

NFL will test a device for blind fans at 2026 Super Bowl

People who have limited vision or are completely blind will have a new way to enjoy the Super Bowl this year. The NFL has teamed with startup OneCourt to equip roughly 10 fans with a device that provides real-time tactile feedback that lets holders track the position of the ball on the field. The device, which also comes with headphones so blind fans can listen to the game call, will even use a series of different vibrations that will signal specific plays on-field.
