How to present your research better...

- Connect the work to why it matters to the audience

- It's about making meaning not being perfect

- Most research talks are rubbish, don't just do the same things as everyone else

- Don't be afraid to show your passion

- you don't have to know everything

HI EVERYBODY! I finally found my fediverse #ForeverHome on transportation.social . It seems I'm not clever enough to have brought the accounts I follow with me from mastodon.social (which my partner affectionally calls "the lobby"), so please help me find you again!
Did I follow you? Should I have been following you? LMK!

A first for me (WWJD?): I declined a #PeerReview request b/c I fundamentally & vehemently disagree with the authors' basic premise. I explained to the editor that b/c I firmly believe the premise is deeply flawed (i.e., dead wrong), I would not be able to provide a constructive review.
The paper was on a trans-disciplinary topic, submitted to a journal in a different field than my own. My field would have desk rejected it (I hope).
#AcademicTooter, is this the right move?
