A group of supposed "faith-based investors" is blackmailing the U.S.'s largest pharmacies into denying abortion pill access to customers. For more than a year, the FDA has given pharmacies a path to dispense the abortion pill mifepristone, and Walgreens and CVS made history when they began the certification process. Now right-wing organizations including the Christian fundamentalist American Family Association and the Southern Baptist Convention are threatening financial repercussions against other pharmaceutical companies, including Walmart, Kroger, and Albertsons. California is leading the way in abortion access by paying for its pharmacies to get mifepristone certification, and UltraViolet members have called on pharmacies in the state to take advantage. Now we need to call on Cerberus--the investment firm that owns hundreds of Albertsons, Vons, and Safeway pharmacies in California--to take advantage of this funding and not cave to pressure from anti-choice extremists! We need you to help our demands reach these companies. Will you add your name now?
A conservative #Christian judge in #Missouri has set us all straight with his very convincing declaration that Missouri's #abortionBan, that was based entirely on the #Christofascist beliefs of lawmakers, wasn't actually about those lawmakers imposing their beliefs on the entire state! Boy, I'm glad that's settled!

A Missouri judge has rejected the argument that lawmakers intended to “impose their religious beliefs on everyone” in the state when they passed a restrictive abortion ban. Judge Jason Sengheiser issued the ruling Friday in a case filed by more than a dozen Christian, Jewish and Unitarian Universalist leaders who support abortion rights. They sought a permanent injunction last year barring Missouri from enforcing its abortion law and a declaration that provisions violate the Missouri Constitution. The Americans United for Separation of Church & State and the National Women’s Law Center, who sued on behalf of the religious leaders, responded in a joint statement that they were considering their legal options.
Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, states have been pushing for limitations and total bans on abortion and abortion medication. Now, one of the strictest abortion bans in the country is on the ballot this November in Florida. And until then, a ban on six-week abortions will be in effect. Meanwhile in Arizona, the state Supreme Court just reinstates a law originally passed in 1864 that bans nearly all abortions. If these abortion bans remain on the books, they could have massive implications for healthcare and reproductive rights in southern states, many of which have already forced abortion clinics to close. We need to fight back – and it’s going to take all of us. Sign the pledge to fight abortion bans. “There are 4.6 million women of reproductive age in Florida, along with trans and nonbinary people who may need an abortion,” said Kelly Baden, vice president of public policy at the Guttmacher Institute. “With the regional clustering of bans in neighboring and nearby states, Floridians [and many others] will have to travel across at least two state lines to get care after six weeks, she added.” Access to reproductive healthcare is essential to the wellbeing of women and pregnant people across the country. Bans are both dangerous and disturbing. Sign the pledge to help fight abortion bans.
