Mere liye, tu hai … Maula tu hai!
(Phool khil jayien)
They were just playing "Bhala hua meri matki" by Abida Parveen and it looks like they played the whole 16 minutes, always nice when a station plays the whole song.
I've never heard of her, or this song, but I like it.
Mere liye, tu hai … Maula tu hai!

Tu Jhoom is a masterpiece. https://youtu.be/7D4vNcK6D38
Episode 5 of Ms Marvel’s end credits also have this song.
In fact, Ms. Marvel’s team has done a great job curating quality indie music and adding in the series.

"Seekh Zaheen ke dil se jalna, kahe ko har shamma par jalna ... Apni aag mein khud jal jaye, tu aisa parwana ban ja"
(O Zaheen, learn how to burn from within your heart, why this obsession to burn for every flame,
be that moth who burns in his own flame)
To burn here is to seek.
"Is hone se, us ban ne se
accha hain deewana ho ja"
-Hazrat Zaheen Shahtaji
What a beautiful piece of #poetry, taken to another level by #AbidaParveen #sufiyana
Ji Chaahe
To run into such a gem serendipitously ... Seems to be from early years of Abida's singing career (according to Wikipedia, she sung this first in the 1970s!). Her voice is softer, but her distinctive style is already there. What a beautiful rendition. The album picture in the video seems wrong.

Best wishes to Pakistan to go get the world cup.
I support the co-colonized over the colonizer!
😁😁
Plus I love #abidaparveen #ghulamali #mehdihassan & #nusratfatehalikhan
~ the ever evocative Faiz Ahmed Faiz so beautifully rendered by the ever ethereal Abida Parveen ~
