Abbe Lane - Be Mine Tonight
Interesting to listen to 50s “bombshell” female vocalist albums (another example is Julie London, of “My Name Is…”) as they were quite popular.
Here, on her first album, Lane is backed by Tito Puente and his orchestra, and the songs are generally Latin-flavored, as you’d expect.
Lane’s voice is *right* up front, and while not technically “perfect”, the material is tailored to her and comes across well.
