More #AWSTranscribe fun(?) fixing up errors in the transcriptions of my biodiversity survey notes. Here are some of the latest highlights:

"ammonia mascara" = Amanita muscaria
"Paradise showdown" = Paradise shelduck
"fire blood" = flower buds
"back to back goal" = black-backed gull
"craig walker song" = grey warbler song
"bloody of the video" = Buddleja davidii
"Nick Deira and Yada Lavi" = Nyctemera annulata larvae

I don't recommend the ammonia mascara, but then Amanita muscaria is a poisonous mushroom.

Nick Deira and Yada Lavi sound like a lovely couple. Anyone know them?

I'm working on a conference talk on some of my wild counting, and that's an excuse to surface some more of the amusing mistakes made when #AWSTranscribe tries to understand my voice in my audio notes.

(I'm trying to imagine what golf would be like if rebuilt by seagulls.)

I'm getting there!

Today I passed a big milestone: I completed transcribing *all* 282,408 audio notes from my weekly biodiversity runs, which I started back in July 2008. Woot!

Now I'm into finishing off my notes from my daily bike rides to work (a route I started recording 20-years ago in March 2003.)

It's all coming together. I'm getting excited about finally pulling together the trends to show everyone, and sharing my cleaned data.
