MILANO (ITALPRESS) – Il Gruppo Webuild consolida la sua presenza in Australia, confermando il ruolo di partner di riferimento nel percorso di decarbonizzazione del Paese. La controllata Clough, storica realtà industriale australiana, si è aggiudicata il contratto da 116 milioni di euro, 100% Clough, per la progettazione e la costruzione della “Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 (K2)”, una centrale a gas a ciclo aperto da 220 MW a Kwinana, 40 chilometri a sud di Perth, da realizzare per conto di AGL Energy.L'iniziativa, si legge in una nota di Webuild, si inserisce nella più ampia strategia di supporto alla transizione energetica dell'Australia, per cui Webuild e Clough sono già impegnati in opere idroelettriche complesse come Snowy 2.0, il più grande progetto per la produzione di energie rinnovali in costruzione nel Paese.Il progetto K2 sarà realizzato accanto alla già esistente Kwinana Swift Power Station, alla cui realizzazione ha contributo anche Clough, in un'area industriale che già ospita infrastrutture energetiche di rilievo. Questa soluzione consentirà di minimizzare le opere di connessione e di sfruttare sinergie impiantistiche e logistiche. Il nuovo impianto adotterà una configurazione OCGT (“open cycle gas turbine”).I lavori porteranno alla creazione di oltre 200 posti di lavoro, valorizzando competenze locali e contribuendo allo sviluppo di una filiera solida e inclusiva.“L'aggiudicazione di questo nuovo contratto conferma l'efficacia dell'integrazione tra l'esperienza centenaria di Clough sul territorio australiano e la scala globale di Webuild. MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Webuild Group is consolidating its presence in Australia, confirming its role as a key partner in the country’s decarbonization pathway. The Clough subsidiary, a historic Australian industrial company, has won the €116 million contract, 100% Clough, for the design and construction of the “Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 (K2)” power plant, a 220 MW open-cycle gas plant in Kwinana, 40 kilometers south of Perth, for AGL Energy. The initiative, according to a Webuild statement, fits into Australia’s broader strategy to support the energy transition, for which Webuild and Clough are already involved in complex hydroelectric projects such as Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy production project under construction in the country. The K2 project will be built next to the existing Kwinana Swift Power Station, on which Clough also contributed, in an industrial area already home to significant energy infrastructure. This solution will allow for minimizing connection works and leveraging plant and logistical synergies. The new plant will adopt an OCGT (“open cycle gas turbine”) configuration. The works will lead to the creation of over 200 jobs, valuing local skills and contributing to a solid and inclusive supply chain. “The award of this new contract confirms the effectiveness of the integration between Clough’s century-long experience in Australia and Webuild’s global scale.
