A tail-recursive list merge I threw together yesterday because I wanted a list sort for a regression test for many Schemes, and CHICKEN 6 did not yet have a SRFI-132 egg. I was doing the usual append-reverse! stuff but then said to myself, ‘Let’s do it how it would be done in ATS’. Which is probably faster, besides. And then I went and did it how it would be done in ATS (though in ATS with linear type-safety):

For your edification, one reason to use C23 instead of those godforsaken older standards:

Standard library header <stdbit.h> (C23) - cppreference.com https://en.cppreference.com/w/c/header/stdbit.html

These are functions of enormous use in data structures, in place of bit-twiddling methods, GCC extensions, or reliance on optimizers to recognize idioms.

Also they are functions whose equivalents already existed in those other languages such as Fortran and Ada.

(Okay, they are macros. Sue me.)

I have made a minor update to my ATS/Postiats ITP rootfinder at https://github.com/chemoelectric/ats2-itp-rootfinder

ITP rootfinding is a more recent alternative to the Brent rootfinder of the 1970s that you still see everywhere. The Brent rootfinder works fine, but I switched to the ITP when it was published.

Also supposedly still on SourceForge, where it has been for years, but for me the page is broken. Luckily I have my local repo.

I think SipHash, SpookyHash, and MurmurHash3 make up all the table hashes I have implemented in ATS. Each with an interface for C or C++ or presumably for Ada or Fortran.
