My John LeCarréthon continues. Finished #ASmallTownInGermany and diving into a couple of podcasts to ‘deep dive’ the novel… interesting to hear a TV adaptation being talked about. This novel actually resonated with me and could be quite relevant now what with populist right wing personalities rising to the fore… although I’m doing all the books (mostly) in order the next natural step will be #KarlasChoice #NickHarkaway as it fits nicely in the timeline before ‘Tinker Tailor…’👌

I struggled with #ASmallTownInGermany by #JohnLeCarré all those years ago as a teenager. Now I have a bus pass I tried again as I’m on a John #LeCarréthon of all his #books in order. I have to say a still struggled. Not one of my favourites but I appreciated it slightly better with old age…
