TL;DR: I AM RUNNING FOR OFFICE! VISIT SANITYSAM.COM

So I have been mentioning a side project. Before I get to that I want to say Thanks again for the immaculate vibes we have here. Having this space where we focus on visual art has made it possible for me to consciously engage and disengage from the news - your cat pictures are keeping me sane.

In fact, this was one of the places I turned when I quit #Reddit for good, the day a child molester was reelected president of the united states. At the time, I didn't know what to do, but I knew the feeling of helpless rage that I got from #doomscrolling was the opposite of what I needed.

Giving up Reddit for #Pixelfed was a change of time but also of feeling, exchanging time crawling deeper into despair for time spent gazing into the faces of flowers. Connecting to love of nature like this really helped me let go of the wrong idea that I'm a powerless spectator. What I have learned from #Pixelfed is that we can take our power back, right now, if we just stop letting them make us angry.

But it wasn't all #florespondence. I also joined my local #Democratic Party as a precinct committee person. If you don't like the way things are, don't get mad, get involved. I got involved where I live, in Oracle, #Arizona. Love for our homes is something thing lots of us have in common here, and I love Arizona! But I don't love our legislature.

So, that's my side project! I am running for office in the most beautiful place in the world, and I am bringing my camera. Specifically, I am running for the State House of Representatives in Arizona's 7th Legislative District.
I stand for fairness and democracy, and if elected I'll work for the people to make Arizona fair for everyone.

**We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.** What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever. When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence. On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us. *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

**DEMOCRACY IS INDIGENOUS. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.** Across the country, Native people are coming together to hold elected leaders accountable. We need to remind leaders that being a true leader means serving the people, not themselves. That the people come first. What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to authoritarianism, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever. When our families are hurting and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will stand up for ourselves and our communities. On Sat., March 28th, we are showing up to make one thing clear: No Kings on sovereign lands. Join us. *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Good citizens will be out at all hours for **NO KINGS DAY!** For this event, **everyone** invited! We will gather at the bandshell at Reid Park at 11:00 a.m. while those wishing to march will rally at these sites: **Marches A and B will begin from Parking areas around 11a, see below.** A and B will head for 22nd and Country Club, where others will be marching into the Park (**March C** starts at **22nd and Country Club**) beginning around 11:45 a.m. Meanwhile at the bandshell there will be brief speeches by younger adults. There will also be audience generated music and community based tables, food trucks, and **family friendly activities**. Our goal is to encourage conversations between the age labels of "boomer," "gen X," "millennial," and "gen Z". We also hope to provide a safe entry into activism for those wishing to find out what to do. The area around the bandshell will be family friendly, with activities for kids (and **very** near a playground). We will have hundreds of close, free parking spots and several food trucks. The marches have been measured and are reasonable with choices as to length. There is extensive handicapped access -**see PARKING**. Adelita Grijalva has graciously consented to speaking. Mark Kelly declined. Ruben Gallego, and Juan Ciscomani were also invited but haven't responded. Our young adults are rehearsing their speeches to inform, amuse, and provoke. Join us! **PARKING** **For MARCH A**: park at 145 N Country Club and cross lawfully to the SE corner, 3130 E Broadway parking lot, march begins there about 11a. **For MARCH B**: park at 1455 S Alvernon (DES ofc) and cross lawfully to the NW corner of the intersection, along 22nd, march begins there abt 11a. **A and B will march toward C, where people are also demonstrating.** BOTH THESE WILL HAVE **FREE EV SHUTTLES** FOR PPL WITH LIMITED MOBILITY, or the EV curious. **HI CORBETT's** lot is available for overflow parking: park (anywhere but the zoo) and go west along the turquoise fence, curving toward the bandshell area. Park on any **SIDE STREETS** that do not have "no parking" signs. All the streets west of Country Club are OK. There is also a **WHEELCHAIR RAMP** at the west end of the Hi Corbett lot, and the hard dirt can be navigated.
