Firstly, I am aware that sizing of women's clothing is at *least* this bad.

I've had two pairs of Keen "Men's Hiking Shoes", specifically their "Targhee" brand.

I bought the first pair in person, so fitted the size in person. Those claim "EU 44, US 10.5, UK 9.5, CM 28.5"

When those wore out I ordered a pair of the third version of that shoe in the same UK 9.5 size. After a week it was clear they were too big. My big toes were getting bruised.

So, I ordered a pair of UK 9 (and eventually gave the 9.5s away, as it seemed too much hassle to sort out a return, especially with having worn them a week of active use).

Those size 9 claim "EU 43, US 10, UK 9, CM 28", so shorter ? I've measured the internal length, toe-tip to heel, in both, and they both seem to be more or less just 28cm.

Now the sizing that Keen currently declares says of UK 9: US 10, EU 43, UK 9, CM 27", which seems like it would definitely be too small for me, right?

How difficult is it to just have *consistent* sizing ? I already know their idea of UK 9.5 can sometimes be UK 9, or vice versa, so how can I trust the sizing at all, other than finding somewhere to buy in person ?

Samsung har en ide om at bruge et speciale program til at kommunikere med deres devices. Det hedder Odin og er først for ganske nylig kommet til Linux.
Og så skulle jeg også lige finde en mus med USB-C stik, for TWRP reagerede ikke på skærmen (det stod på 9) i en tråd på forum #argh
Det ville være rart, hvis der kom et krav om at det skulle være lettere at installere på mobil og tablets,
Men nu er der skiftet på tableten her. Ikke mere Bloatware

Been trying to get audio to work on a Dell Windows machine. It just doesn't work at all. No audio inout nor output devices anywhere. I reinstalled the drivers for the Realtek chipset the machine has and still nothing. USB headsets and similar show up on the USB bus in Device Manager and the headset's own apps show them as being ok, but no audio devices. Headsets use Windows' own drivers. I thought things were supposed to be each and nice on this OS?

You know the trope about "when you're in the know about something, you see every example of that something which is bad, and you feel bad"?

Like "teach someone typography, and they will examples of it done wrong every day", that sort of thing.

Well, one of the things I have knowledge about and experience with is cinematography - film & video. And here's one I run into regularly.

I watch an online video.

On my 16:10 monitor.

The browser letterboxes it into a 16:9 area of the screen.

It's some bloody stupid video site with vertical video, so it's 1:2 (or even worse), pillarboxed into the browser viewport.

And then the video maker is commenting about another video, so it's a 16:9 letterboxed into a tiny section of the pillarboxed video, with enormous borders on the top and bottom.

This hurts my head, even without considering that it results in trying to watch a video that takes up about 5% of the screen.
