But the best album of 2025 can't be any other than the new record by Terzij De Horde - Our Breath Is Not Ours Alone. It kicks the door in with a fury at the injustice in the world, frothing at the mouth, raging against the darkness in the world.

This record was pure catharsis from the get go. A literary substantiated anger in a relentless face melting assault on all the senses. Deserved top spot.

We enter the top 3 with this diamond of a crushingly heavy slow #FuneralDoom record from Aerial Ruin & Bell Witch. In fact, before you listen to it, it is just carbon, that's how absolutely crushing this record is.

Close your eyes, and before you know it, the full hour is over leaving you wanting to hit the repeat, again, and again. Every drum hit hits, every passage feels like an aeon gone bye in a moment.

4th place of my #AOTY2025 list is an act that was good before I saw them live, afterwards it was great! What a show! Still don't know how to pronounce the album title though.

Wyatt E. from Belgium takes you on a trip to Mesopotamia in olden times where they serve you a great big golden plate of #drone and #doom. This combination really works great and results in a mesmerising album that has great artwork to boot.

5th place and the choices are getting harder now. What do you get when you mix Tolkien with proper #MeloBlack? You get the release from the American outfit 'One of nine' called Dawn Of The Iron Shadow.

This record oozes fantasy from every song, but instead of becoming a tired trope, it is well crafted like the Ring of legend itself. Well rounded, beautifully crafted and revealing beautiful details upon inspection.
