If you've seen A Moment But Forever you probably noticed its uncommon palette; the most common colours were salmon orange, greyish turquoise, and off colour brown. That combo is a good sign someone crucial in production is colour "blind". I put the latter in quotation marks, because people with this condition _do_ see colours - just not the way most people do. Compare to this still from Moonlight Mystique,

In Western fiction the Evil Side gets the coolest gadgets. That's _not_ a rule that applies to C-drama*, but here they get a consolation price; their lipstick game is On Point. _I_ want that red shade _and I don't even use makeup_! (Unfortunately different screens show different hues, but what I see is a shade between dark red and plum purple.)
(*Cool and fun gadgets are usually the property of the Good Side.)

I commend production for their modernized Evil Xianxia Overlord look, and their ability to letting a gigantic guan defy gravity (I _so_ hope it isn't stapled to the poor man's head)!
Also, do you _have_ to become Evil to wear purple lipstick? Asking for a friend.
New concept detected. Intriguing. Will poke around with it...
*sigh*
...in my copious free time.
Judging by the reflections on the sheets and pillow, production actually forked up for fabric with woven patterns (in this case they both look like matelassé). That's rare; most dramas save money by using prints, even for common motifs like these. Given how they've skimped left and right it's a surprising splurge. But, who knows, maybe they found something sufficiently colour matched at the rental and didn't mind the off-level quality?
As per usual in a C-drama Zhi Dai's costuming grows darker when she gets a more serious role as a character. And I love her top coat here! Semi-transparent, with a checkered pattern, where intersections are adorned with silver pearls that shines likes stars against the background. A+ to the costume designer!
So you find your girlfriend by her wedding dress looking disturbed, and you are the Sean Bean of C-drama weddings...
OF COURSE THERE'S SOMETHING!
If this was Norse mythology instead of xianxia that cranky, sarcastic old man would be one-eyed, _far_ ruder, and end the interaction by mooning them.
Hm... in regard to everything;
Xianxia Vikings from mainland China won't show up anytime soon. Might be a pity.
