I just spent a few days in Houston at the annual American Meteorological Society meeting. Amazingly, my 7th AMS! But it was the first time I attended purely as press.

I'm providing an update on CREDIT at 4:30 PM today in 330A at #AMS2026. Here's a taste of some of the changing views on ML weather prediction I will be providing. (Thanks @[email protected] for the last minute bug fix!)
You might have noticed that we're HAVING SOME WEATHER at the moment - so it's the perfect time to catch up with the Science Explorer team at #AMS2026 in Houston, TX, this week! We're at booth 708 - swing by to win some exclusive merch, and don't forget our talk on Wednesday too!
Prelim results of the GS-1340 survey (n=146) from #AMS2026 town hall. Respondents were asked how important it is for federal mets to have coursework in ___ (on a 5-pt scale). This interactive page breaks down answers by sector. https://gs1340update.org/GS1340_Survey_Means.html

Lots of canceled talks at #AMS2026 AMS meeting. I’m in a session that had 5 talks. Two were withdrawn and two are remote, so only one speaker was in person. Not sure if the remote talks intended to be here but canceled due to weather.
