I've got a small Mini ITX pc which features an Intel core i7 7700 processor (4 cores, 8 threads), 32gb ram and an RX570 with 4gb VRAM.

Every game I try to run tells me that I'm using between 40-60% of my CPU but the GPU is absolutely pegged at 99-100% unless in a menu or loading screen.

Given this, and given that even on my main desktop with a 12 core Ryzen 3900x and an RX6800 I'm seeing even less CPU utilisation but the same GPU utilisation I'm guessing that a lack of GPU power is the defining feature in PC gaming.

So why are AMD supposedly releasing three different APUs with so few GPU cores?

Surely in the Z2 line up, the sensible option would be 6 cores / 12 threads with a lower model with 12 compute units and a ltop tier with 6 cores / 12 threads but 18-20 compute units ??

Why add two extra CPU cores when most games don't seem to take advantage of them?
