Went into Aldi today. Can't say I'm a fan of their checkout arrangement - there's a screen right in front of you saying monitoring in progress while mirroring the camera that's pointed at you. Great, way to make customers feel welcome.

I mean, I assume that most self-checkout kiosks have a camera pointing at you. Didn't have to put it up on a screen and imply "we're watching you, you potential thief. Now get your checkout done and gtfo".

I gave in and bought my first #BigStupidCup from #Aldi. I put the requisite collected, removable stickers on it.

College van Beroep: claim ‘goedkoopste van heel Nederland’ door Aldi misleidend 📉🛒. Kassa-test te beperkt voor zo’n absolute uitspraak; aanbeveling tegen de folder bevestigd. #Aldi #misleiding #vergelijkendereclame https://www.reclamecode.nl/uitspraak/?uitspraakId=574761

@ifixcoinops I think #Aldi products and their packaging changes pretty often. I think the company switches suppliers of their products from time to time, probably due to cost or availability. Maybe for a while they used a supplier that wrapped the tea in plastic. Then they switched to another supplier (maybe even the earlier supplier) that wraps it in paper.

I think you never can tell with Aldi products. Most are good.

That was a pretty annoying response you received from them, though.
