Before some internal renovation at the Apollo/Saturn V Center at the #KSC Visitors Complex, the #Apollo 19 or #Skylab rescue #CSM was on display so that it could be walked all the way around, including looking into the #nozzle of the #AJ110 #rocket #engine on the Service Module.
If something had happened to the Apollo #spacecraft at Skylab, this one would have launched to the station to retrieve the crew.

The #Aerojet #AJ110 #rocket #engine was selected for the #Apollo #spacecraft during the initial design phase, when the plan was to land the entire Command and Service Modules on the Moon directly.
This “direct ascent” plan was abandoned later, but the work to revise the engine would be excessive so it remained.
The AJ110 went on to power the Space Shuttle, the Delta-K upper stage and the Orion capsule.
