And we’re done with #AIX26! Thanks for following along in between the hours of Bluesky outages.
Meanwhile, at the RAVE Aerospace #AIX26 booth, we see its Gen 5 IFE screens. What’s cool is they’ve integrated a FlightPath3D map into the home screen, updating real-time. Clicking into the full map transitions seamlessly, slick! The new RAVE OS is vertical scrolling instead of oddly horizontal.

Greetings from the final #AIX26 day! Starting with Boeing, showing a concept for a lavatory sized private space for work or calls. It’s sound dampened for privacy (and prevent that noise from disrupting passengers) and is surprisingly effective. Airlines would have to find space for it, though.
I was in an #AIX26 meeting with an aerospace satellite Wi-Fi antenna manufacturer’s CCO when Amtrak released this. I shifted the convo to train connectivity and luckily he came from the transportation sector. In his opinion, connectivity for trains is way more difficult than aerospace 🤯

Meanwhile, at the Burrana #AIX26 stand…how about an E Ink display in the seatback? It can display one static color image every 15 seconds. Maybe it’s an ad. Maybe the safety card. Maybe the flight map. It’ll probably be an ad. One thing is for sure: Passengers won’t be able to turn it off. #PaxEx
I’m not a fan of VR/AR, but Mirus has a really useful application of it to show a seat it’s still designing. It’s their first premium economy seat for single aisle aircraft, and it looks quite nice at least in a virtual world. Also, here’s the new easyjet seats. #AIX26 #PaxEx
One of the best parts of #AIX26 is just waking the halls, stopping at what looks cool. You know what’s cool? Aircraft illuminated panels. Even cooler is when they’re all on display in one place wired up to buttons to toggle them on. Thanks for putting up with me, Luminator Aerosoace. #AvGeek
Welcome to day 2 of #AIX26! Starting off with Expliseat, who has a new business class seat product. It’s the TiSeatS. Design started 18 months ago, slated for certification end of 2027. Meanwhile, its economy seats are coming soon to 2 US airlines on E175 and CRJ family. That’s huge deal for them.
Attended the #AIX26 Crystal Cabin awards and ended up seated at table 35. I shared it with @[email protected], three University category students, a mother chaperone, and two of the judges. It was the best table and I’ll hear no objections.
It really looks like #AIX26 (aka the Aircraft Interiors Expo) has more of a focus on display technology than CES did. Which is kind of crazy!
