Building Blocks

A day of Reckoning has arrived.

After six months I have officially reached a small goal in my AI journey. Today I locked in ten tracks to complete my upcoming album. I have decided to quit trying to improve them and now have a base for what I want to accomplish going forward.

Moving them into my DAW as musical stems I can use them to arrange my own midi’s & VSTs into songs loosely based on what Suno Pro has from my prompts. If you’re not familiar, I learned about writing prompts for my AI images a couple of years ago and still am learning new ways to improve them.

I write long prompts to reach my goal in my images and have adapted that into writing want I hear in my head. I am still wet behind the ears so to speak on how to use my DAW properly and have a lot of learning ahead of me but will try my damndest to figure it out and move forward.

The songs in Peaceful Grooves are what I would call fillers, good to me but not quite good enough. Some need more work or re-mixed but they are major building blocks to achieve my final goal.

I’m Back… at it Again

I did a remix today changing the ending verse and going from a female voice to my persona voice.

So I am posting both versions of this song as they appear on 103.3 DM dial found in Peaceful Grooves.

As I close in on getting my sound booth up and running I am learning my vocal range. I found this after posting this morning and thought it needed remixed. Slowing it down put it closer to the range I need to stay in for my vocals. This is all a project in progress and this slowly helps me decide what songs I want to keep.

I’m dragging butt in learning how to use my Mixcraft DAW but have made my first from scratch instrumental piece which is you guessed it…SLOP! But in my defense it is original slop that will eventually be burnt toast that I look back on with fond memories.

Man that really hurts my ears!

I felt the need to share it with you as this is documentation on my journey with AI. It took me almost two months to produce that eardrum splitting nonsense but I’m improving everytime I study, like I said…dragging butt in this department.

Low Budget Productions

Yes, I looked up ‘Low Budget Productions’ and found this name was already taken too. “Peaceful Outlaw” is now officially my registered name and no one can touch or use it. This name came about and is being used for the fact that my site is Peaceful Threads and it seems like I am considered an outlaw for using AI to make this happen! I am in the process of turning this all into an LLC for further protection.After finding that I wanted to move forward with the LP I started looking into the costs of making it happen.

Let Me Hold A Dollar

This could quickly become out of hand and drain a bank account so I did what any dawg would do, go digging up bones. Along with learning how to write the prompts for what I want the song to sound like I found that using the voice DNA didn’t really sound like me, my real voice sounds like total shit so I found a VCS [ Vocal Conditioning System] from CyberTone and within five minutes of using this was blown away with the difference.

I use it daily to get ready to record the songs I’ve chosen to record. I am using a Behringer BA85A microphone ran through my vintage Pioneer stereo system to achieve the warm analog sound I enjoy so much. I also found a pretty good DAW system [Mixcraft Pro Studio 10.6] which I am learning how to use and it’s not so easy yet. I am making progress with it though so that’s a happy point in my journey. I also looked into buying a recording booth but the costs again had me sniffing out new directions. I built a recording booth from scratch and saved almost $150 which is quite the savings to me. This isolates my voice pretty good I think but will find out later today.

I am waiting on UPS to deliver my new Focusrite gen 4 solo converter today and whoo-hoo am I excited! I will be able to send the songs from my DAW into my reel to reel and now add my real voice to the mix! Here is where I give a GREAT BIG shout out to Sweetwater for all the fantastic information and guidance on the equipment needed without all the upsales.

A Point in Time

I thought this was going to be an easy peasy post

I gave serious thought to not posting this morning as I had trouble with getting this site to cooperate, not loading anything but the front page. I couldn’t open the dashboard, respond to anything or make a new post.

I’m still fighting with WP as I write this with every sentence including a pop up that tells me my internet connection is broken. Funny how this is the only site doing it today and my laptop shows a strong internet connection. I have talked to support and they have acknowledged that it is on their end and they are trying to correct it.

While waiting on this to be corrected I went over to Suno and finished a song I have been working on. It is not a super mega hit nor is it slop in my opinion so I believe it is good enough to go on the new page of my radio station ‘Peaceful Grooves’ formerly known as ‘The Dawghouse Dial’.

After this post is done today I plan on going to Peaceful Grooves and moving songs into the new categories I’ve made there. Still with three stations on the 103 dial they are now divided into religion, country and rock although I think they will be under construction for a hot minute.

In response to the daily I believe this morning was a testimony as to my patience being stronger than I realized and that this post is proof of this as it is a prolix of what could be said in one or two paragraphs. On to the song.

Reflections

I’ve escaped the blues of the past week or so and am now back in construction mode. I have once again changed my header and looking into the future of this site I am debating whether to change the whole thing or just leave altogether when my plan expires this year.

I enjoy WordPress and the amazing people who are on here provide great posts to read daily without all the hate seekers that want a cheap thrill by trashing every post they come across. I extend apologies to anyone I unintentionally offended in any of my posts by mistake. In reality the chaos that resides inside my mind is making me my worst critic.

Adapting to AI

When NTT was up and running Kevin provided us with some good images to work off of and they gave me inspiration for some [IMO] pretty good poetry. After he left I got into the habit of combining challenges but that thrill has worn off while the next chapter starts.

I seem to deep dive into a subject when it peaks my curiosity but am always keeping an eye out for a new challenge. I don’t use AI for any of my writing but have became fair in making images to use here. Learning to write prompts for those images still grows daily and has helped me moving forward with Suno Pro to make songs.

Jumping Tracks

When I first checked Suno out I was thinking it was a cool way to enhance my poetic writings and soon became engrossed with changing my poems into songs, learning how to write choruses and arrange them to make sense to me. Some of them turned out pretty good and a couple of collaborations were made into songs that I liked, Nancy’s Song and January Fire. Both of these ladies were fun to work with and very patient with me in the process. I thank you Nancy & AJ.

I was confused for a hot minute and wondered if what I was doing was just AI slop but after listening to what is considered slop I believe what I am doing does not fall into that category so I keep moving forward. I am in the process of doing an album for me and a couple of people that like what I have and want a copy of vinyl and/or CD to add to their collections.

Is that cool or what?

Sunday, Suno & Siri

I’m enjoying a relaxing Sunday today and hope you are too.

I started the morning out by cruising through reader. I didn’t feel up to a post so I turned the laptop off and turned the stereo up. I listened to the following three albums while tidying up the dawghouse.

I then checked my email and came back here and looked at your comments and to reply before heading to my DAW to make mistakes and learn. That didn’t happen.

After reading Siri’s comment on ‘Gotta Start Somewhere’ and seeing she subscribed to the other site I have parked waiting on the meter to run out on it I went into poetry mode and ended up in Suno. The following song was made this afternoon and reflects on the friendship we’ve made over the years. It can be found on 103.3.3 on the DM Dial. I hope you enjoy this along with enjoying your Sunday.

Gotta Start Somewhere

Running from myself

Heading into the weekend in a slow pace I didn’t want to rush myself writing a post this morning. I have surfed reader and walked away, came back and looked at the daily prompt with sad eyes and a dead thought process and walked away again. Lately I have been at a lost with the ability to write anything that sounds decent to me. My poetry is not up to par and it has me confused to say the least. I guess today my role in the Dawghouse is to rupture your eardrums with a filler song at best and more than likely slop. I like the music but the words not so much. Enjoy your weekend.

Starbucks Sloppy Spam Session

I’m getting a lot of comments that I am landing in the spam files 🤔I don’t know why but Thanks Jetpack. Along with this I have only been able to write sad verses lately, I guess I’ve got the blues.

On a happier note I am starting to understand how to use my DAW so that’s pretty cool. Hopefully I will be comfortable in it when I get the booth up and running so I can record in it. I sound like slop right now as my voice isn’t trained and I’m croaking hitting certain notes.

Speaking of slop, I’m making these videos as I have so many credits in openart that I’m wasting them at the end of the monthly cycle as they don’t roll over. I can’t make enough images to consume that many.

Last April I released my second book “Silent Screams” and over the course of a year it made zero sales. It is a complete opposite of “Ink Stained Love” that shows the darker side of my altered mind. No complaints here, I am still so grateful to Dawn Pisturino for encouraging me to do the books and AJ Wilson for turning me on to Suno. With that said I am not marketing them and have been turning them into songs with AI. In my mind there is both slop and some good songs on the DM dials.
