Doing It My Way

Having fun on the first hump day of June.

Daily writing prompt Do you believe AI music is all slop? ✅ View all responses

Nope. I think it all depends on what you want to get out of it. If you actually put a little time in anything it can turn out good. AI has helped all of us to make some killer images for our posts using the right AI prompts.

When I first started using AI to make music I was skeptical about if it would be slop or not. I had no clue what could be done with it but damn, it was fun.

Spotify pulled 70 million songs down calling them slop and turned around after making a deal with UMG and now are allowing people to remix songs on their site. Who says what slop is? More importantly why?

Money, it isn’t that hard to figure out.If a AI song hits number 1 on the charts which has happened, more than one person has liked it and somewhere someone said ‘I can make money off of this’. Not just the millions of people flooding the market with AI songs for ten cents a play but the heads of corporates who can and are changing the rules for their benefit.

So who draws the line? To me this is simple, let the music be heard and let the public decide, isn’t that what happened with rock & roll when it first came about ? Not everyone who hears AI music hates it straight away. Some people will listen to a song and be toe tapping along when all of a sudden they find out it is AI generated and instantly hate it. To me this is a closed mind reaction made by an insecure person to fit in a circle of public acceptance. In other words, sheep following a loud barking wolf into a open field.

It’s not new. It has happened before and I guarantee it will happen again. That’s the way the world turns. Not only in the realm of making AI music but in the human race to destruction. Follow the masses and we will keep you happy while showering hate into the air we all breath.

Enough of another rant and on to the answer. This is another song I’ve made for my radio dial 103.3 DM, a free station where AI music is promoted and heard for free. Is it slop? You tell me.

  • Hell & High Water
  • And now a song from the past that isn’t AI.

    Where Do I Go Now?

Plowing straight ahead through the confusion and rapidly changing era of AI.

    STOP HERE!

September 25, 2025 Spotify removed or took down 75 million tracks of supposedly slop made from AI to protect their subscribers. 75 Million! Fast forward to October 16, 2025, alongside Universal Music Group and Sony, they officially teamed up with Warner Music Group to develop licensed, “artist-first” artificial intelligence music tools for the platform. WTF? This doesn’t sound to me like they had the viewers or subscribers in mind so much as the profit that was/is clearly behind this whole sha-bang.

The copyright office has been scrambling to figure out how to handle this problem as they are quickly falling behind so their laws are rapidly changing to. Anytime there is big profit to be made or lost big corps will always muddy the waters until they can find a way to control the profit margin in their favor. Now the Feds are jumping in to regulate the laws too. Like I said, Big money.

I got worried that everything I was trying to do was slop but guess what, it’s not. I have my radio dial up and running and am having fun with this whole thing offering free sounds to those who want to listen to them. I am making an album with the ones I personally feel are the cream of the crop in what I write and sing. I have been very clear on the fact that I am not a musician but I am someone who likes to think I know what I like in music and to be truthful about it I haven’t heard a lot since the 90s that wasn’t anything more than commercial pop shit that some AI slop I’ve heard sounds a lot like or even better than.

    Proceed with Caution!

I started playing with Suno Pro in November of last year having fun but quickly got addicted to putting sound to my words and deep dived into what was possible. Since that time I have spent many hours learning the ins and outs of this confusing but interesting path. I still want to make a vinyl record for my collection because who wouldn’t want to have their own LP in their collection?

So in learning the legalities of this I found I had to drop the ‘Dawghouse’ and ‘The Reel Rebel’ as those names had already been trademarked or copyrighted for use and I don’t need to be sued for using them. No worries, true it was a little frustrating to have to let go of them but I think it worked out for the best as now I have tied everything into one clear path, Peaceful-threads.com is my offical site name for this blog and is under protection legally. [Hoo-Ray!]

With that in mind I learned I could use Peaceful Grooves as a name for my radio dial found here and after weeks of searching I came up with a name I could use for my band. [to be continued]…
