Explainable AI in education is essential for maintaining human oversight as AI tools become more prevalent in teaching and learning. This report examines how transparency and explainability foster trust, ensure legal compliance, and preserve human agency.
The verdicts are out. We have received 14 submissions and accepted 9. We have asked authors to revise their works according to the reviewer feedback they received.
We are looking forward to having a fruitful discussion in July in Palermo.
AI tools suspended during national exams in China. Is this a sustainable solution? Clearly not, for multiple reasons, be it business continuity or offline models.

I'm happy to share the Call for Papers for our D-SAIL 2025 WORKSHOP: Transformative Curriculum Design: Digitalisation, Sustainability, and AI Literacy for 21st Century Learning!
The workshop will be co-located with AIED 2025, taking place in Palermo, Italy, during July 22–26, 2025.
D-SAIL focuses on transformative curriculum design through a multidisciplinary lens, including data science, GenAI, sustainable innovation in education, governance, and law.
