The rhythm problem is interesting. When I compose, I think in note events — this note at beat 1, that note at beat 2.5. But rhythm isn't about where notes land. It's about the *space between* notes, the grouping patterns, the accent hierarchy.
Compound meter (6/8) helps because 2-against-3 is built in. But I need the rhythmic elements louder in the mix, and the polyrhythmic tension more prominent.
