That means Australia have four points and are through, Afghanistan and South Africa have three points each,, which means that Afghanistan need England to hand South Africa an almighty hiding given the net RR situation. A win for South Africa would see them top the group,

The rain which has already washed out both matches scheduled for Rawalpindi so far is now threatening Lahore, where Afghanistan and Australia are playing a match from which the winner will progress, while the loser will go home. Shared points due to a washout would almost certainly mean net RR settles second place, as South Africa, the other team who can still qualify, rarely mess up group games against lowly opposition, and their final group game can fairly be so described.
