Higher intelligence, certain ADHD symptoms, higher socioeconomic status, and non-White maternal ethnicity were linked to later ADHD diagnoses, particularly in girls, suggesting these factors can mask symptoms and delay accurate identification.

remember to clarify the diagnosis with the doctor or consultant. I didn't, and only found out three months later that he'd already diagnosed me. He didn't specifically say he had and I thought there was some further test or assessment to come. My appointments are every three months, so that was a lot of extra anxiety! 
Turns out he had diagnosed me, but I got no letter, report, nada! My autistic partner, got a 6 page report on his diagnosis, and a zoom call meeting if I recall correctly, which was very useful. I asked my consultant if I was due a letter or report, and he looked at me quizzically, and said "why do you need a report?" 🤦🏻♀️
