VERY few outside those that have caught me around the Praxis Guitars workshop/studio would know......
far more than anything else, i listen to "ambient" (just totally beatless "music"... if one cares to call such "music").
Currently, there's this (timbre/sound) patch I made over a week ago now, and while I've had breaks from it, for literal hours at a time, all I've been listening to is a single, all be it evolving in timbre, sustained chord from it.
Working to it, reading to it, listening to lectures over it, going to sleep to it.....

I do such A LOT....
Develop some timbre/sound, then simply hit a single note or chord, and then that's it....
I'm just listening to that single sustained sound for hours.... sometimes even days.

Music.... the process or the product?

Pretty sure I spend more time on sound design, exploratory "Noise Architecture" ventures as it were, just exploring sound and the perceived spaces in-between, than I do actually writing or performing "music" as most would call it.
In that way, the majority of my listening time has little to nothing to do with "music", and while it does hold a creative relation, it really doesn't even sound much like any of the "music" I've ever released or publicly performed.
There's a product of the process that frequently hits public, but personal preference and time devotion is toward the process and not dwelling on the product. Why are there so many samples of chords?

Relative to the more "traditional" waveshapes, I've long been a fan of sample based Osc.
Much more complex wave shapes for oscillator use readily available and assured stable tuning to boot.
But I've never understood having samples of "chords"......
It ruins being able to use the sample as an osc that can be played across the entire range and locks one into a world of playing in 5ths, 9ths, and such things.
What's the point?

Seem to have developed a real knack for posing taboo thoughts on GearSlutz (a major music production forum).
find this troublesome.... largely in that haven't stepped outside the bounds of topics related to music, music culture, or music production.
Somehow it's like there exist a rapidly growing culture, that along with other things I don't understand, is developing such notions as musical "thought crime".
