Left : MNT reform, Right : Panasonic CF-SV

9front on Panasonic CF-SV8FDSQR worked well.
9fornt is truly amazing.
Next is Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen1, but CPU server and nvram aren't working properly.
I'd like to start learning programing soon, not just install only.

Sorry for my previous rant, but Richard #Stallman has been predicting this since *decades* from their libre ITS machines suffering corporate bullshit forever. Their own GNU project was to liberate #Unix from the #AT&T hands. Yes, it was and it's a bit bloated from the #BSD perspective, I know, I was an OpenBSD user and now #9front, but #hyperbolaBSD will try to fix that: minimalist BSD freedom with a #GNU license. And you might not need to suffer FFSv2 fscking itself again ;) as a plus.

So you if you now need a free #Unix, you know what to support. Consider anything from #Redhat/#IBM ultimately tainted. #Trisquel
it's sadly on a razors' edge. They will patch it... until they can't anymore.

#GNU #Guix it's fine, but better if you pick it bia Bittorrent under a non-US mirror.

If you want a Unix 2.0, head to #9front, but help with ath9k drivers (there are none) as they are the only ones without needing binary blobs (less opaque things to debug and a total freedom to distribute them with base).

Got 9front to boot on an old IBM laptop.

This is a good day. 4:3 screens. Chonky solid laptops. Drives that go whiirrrr!

Now to learn about how to install it on the internal drive...

First time I have been *excited* to install an OS on a new to me machine in a loooong time.

These days I feel a urge to resurrect #JehanneOS. Even better, restart it from #9front #MIT licensed sources adding my own code under the HackingLicense, maybe with a little addendum to explicitly leverage the Article 4(3) #CDSM’s opt-out mechanism.

paso 5 minutos al salón a ver qué ve $PAREJA en TV. El Chicote pegando dgritos con telerrealidad estresante. Me vuelvo al recibidor con mi transistor de radio escuchando techno de mi adolescencia mientras programo en #9front. Quiero conservar la poca cordura que me queda. Escucharía algo de onda corta pero mi transistor chinorro no puede ni con las ondas más bajas en SW (mayor distancia ergo más capacidad para captarlas).

Yesterday I made an appreciation post. This morning it was gone. Not sure if snac decided to do a thing on its own or if I accidentally pressed the delete post button when trying to turn off the alarm on my phone this morning or whatever, but here it is again, slightly expanded and modified. Finally Friday! Well, now Saturday!

I’ve been boosting and posting some negative content lately, and I really don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, so I’ve decided to focus more on stuff I like. So here it goes:

I really really like #OpenBSD, #Slackware and #9front. They do what I want from them, never complain and never break on me. If they break, I can easily find information on how to fix them, or a member of the community will come to my aid.

I really like #herbstluftwm. Cool sounding name, easy to customize and handles my windows really well. What more could I ask for in a window manager?

I really like #zathura. Easy to customize and blends well with my color themes.

I really like #mpv. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I also really like #anonradio and #hackerpublicradio (#hpr). Thanks for keeping me entertained.

Also, @[email protected] : Thanks for constant content.

An honorable mention to #wife, #kids, and #cat. I enjoy your company.

There's a trend, with #Meta and #palantir

Get a libre #gnulinux distro as #guix as your daily driver, better if you choose #xfce or #kde as your desktops, avoid selecting #gnome in the instsaller. Use #9front as the proper Unix/computer science thinkering. If you can run vmx under #9front (modern 64 bit Intel machines), install #guix under it and just use the browser for #Javascript if your goverment chores -taxes nad the like- mandates it. Then purge its configuration.

when my linux laptop dies and i have money im going to replace it with an #mnt reform. hopefully by then (maybe 4 or 5 years from now) i will be out and clear of stupid software that education makes me use (teams and all that bullshit). give me email, irc, and some sms.

anyway, my ideal would be to just run #9front or #openbsd on it.

im sorry linux people, but i have ordered a macbook

Ill be real here, i needed a laptop for university that i can kinda rely on, no way am i going back to windows so that discards a bunch of laptops. I was originally looking at framework and mntre, however framework prices have skyrocketed with ram prices and mntre isnt releasing the mnt reform next in god knows.
