when my linux laptop dies and i have money im going to replace it with an #mnt reform. hopefully by then (maybe 4 or 5 years from now) i will be out and clear of stupid software that education makes me use (teams and all that bullshit). give me email, irc, and some sms.

Ill be real here, i needed a laptop for university that i can kinda rely on, no way am i going back to windows so that discards a bunch of laptops. I was originally looking at framework and mntre, however framework prices have skyrocketed with ram prices and mntre isnt releasing the mnt reform next in god knows.

Is it me, or are #fedora "Atomic" based #Linux distros all sluggish?

With Bazzite, on my two daughter's gaming PCs (both Ryzen beasts) it's a non-issue, but on my laptops (i5-8365U and i3-3225U) and the HTPC (also a venerable 3rd gen i3) it's annoying.

I typically don't run linux on my laptops. The main one is currently #FreeBSD and the 2nd one #9Front, but I occasionally need to run Linux. Trying out these atomic distros made me feel briefly like buying an unnecessary new machine.

Anyone else got a Reform running Plan 9, btw? I've never been able to get the reading of data from the lpc to work, and reading reform/pm.c and cross referencing with the lpc firmware, I'm fairly sure the implementation is just wrong.

Has this ever worked? Anyone have it working now? Curious if there was a breaking firmeare change or something...

...fossil's file system checker just *deleted the primary root* for being corrupt. /active is just *gone*.

I'm going to have to scan the drive for the latest archival scores and reinitalize the fossil entirely. Ffs.

Good thing i have backups...
