Spied on the way to work today:

• Three ten-year-old boys on skis gliding across the crosswalk like it was normal.

• A chatty gang of 12-year-olds carrying snowboards and sleds, clearly looking forward to the hill.

• A kid trailing all the others with an air of James Dean, sporting spikey orange hair, his metal snow shovel slung over a shoulder.

They all made me smile, but the maker at the rear should be on a poster.
