@lxskllr
Somehow this poster made me think instead of John Colicos guest starring appearance, with Barry Morse (of Space 1999 fame) in the appalling 1973 ‘The Starlost’ episode ‘The Goddess Calabra.

How an episode credited to Ursula LeGuin, on a show conceived by Harlan Ellison and with Brian Aldiss as science consultant could be so truly bad is one of the enduring questions of this show.

It’s still a cult classic though.

The Starlost 50th Anniversary: "The Goddess Calabra."

🌆Logan’s Run premiered #OTD in 1976 and showed us a 23rd century dystopia where no one lives past 30.

A retro-futuristic thrill ride that defined ‘70s sci-fi.

@mklopez

This is AWESOME!

While not that much more is said here by EPs Devlin and Glassner, the strong implication is that they’re expecting S3 to be greenlit, but also that they already have mapped much of it out…

“ Dean Devlin: To a very real degree, all of season 1 and all of season 2 is the pilot episode. That the actual series begins at the beginning of season 3, because the Arc is not just a lifeboat, it is a search and rescue vehicle, and now there's a new home to bring them to. But is the home everything they hope it is? Are there problems on this home that they don't know about?

And where are they going, and where are they finding people, and are they finding who they're supposed to find? Or are they having other kinds of adventures? Who are they bringing back to the planet? So now we have a show where it's going to be a lot less predictable than what we've done before. It can't be "disaster of the week," and we don't want it to be. It's really going to be a show where any kind of science fiction concept that we want to explore, we'll have a way to do it.”

Still working on setting up the chat group by the way. Will keep you posted but there should be news very soon I hope!

For all of you Star Trek, Stargate and classic Sci-fi TV fans who haven’t yet given The Ark a try, watch parties will be coming once the chat bot is working.

@mycotropic @TheSpaceshipper Yes, I watched it first run on CTV!

And I recently I recently bought the remastered DVD set which has interviews and BTS footage on how it was made.

I have been looking for someone to rewatch with and discuss.

I saw my first cybertruck in the wild while walking up 13th today. I was bummed I didn't have my camera ready, and I wondered if I'd see it again. Less than 10 minutes later, I laughed when I saw it while walking down 17th. I felt like I stumbled upon a low-budget 70s sci-fi movie set... that 100k thing is not for me... cyberNOPE!

I need help. My brain remembered a SciFi book I bought at a used book shop when I was 13ish
I can't remember the title, it was may something like The Sea Monsters, The Sea Devils
One of the main characters was a woman who was friends with these large sea creatures. All I can remember is a scene where they show up on the beach, drop her off /to live with her own kind/ and she panicking and pleading for them not leave her there.
Cover art was def 70's maybe early 80's style it had one of the creatures, and I think her in a light colored wetsuit/dry suit
If you know of a directory of old sci-fi books or an archive of sci-fi book covers please please please let me know I can't get my brain to stop obsessing about it

@mrawdon @triptych

I’m all in favour of fanfics and spec scripts to bring attention to underserved #trippy #70sScifi television concepts.

Maybe we should organize a fediverse weekly rewatch for some of these?
