The Idiot

Released on March 18, 1977, The Idiot is the debut solo album by Iggy Pop. It was produced and largely co-written by David Bowie and, as Iggy called it ... "a cross between James Brown and Kraftwerk." The album is hailed as a foundational blueprint for post-punk, industrial, and gothic rock. It was the album playing on Joy Division singer Ian Curtis's turntable the night he died. #iggypop #theidiot #70srock #rockmusic #70smusic #music #musicsky #musiciansky

This Year’s Model

March 17, 1978 ~ Elvis Costello and The Attractions pump it up. It's their second album and widely considered one of Costello's best works and a definitive record of the new wave and punk rock era. This was the first album to feature his permanent backing band, The Attractions, consisting of Steve Nieve (keyboards), Bruce Thomas (bass), and Pete Thomas (drums.) #elviscostello #thisyearsmodel #70srock #altrock #elviscostelloandtheattractions #postpunk

You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...
The snow had melted completely from ondeck then a few days ago, a couple of inches fell and last night, a few more inches came down. It subsided for a bit but there’s a 90 percent chance for more today and it just showed up as a blizzard warning takes effect at 10 a.m. “Chicago time” today - between 20 and 30 inches possible by tomorrow and I think my hot water heater just took a dump (Yay!) I’m reminded of a tune from 1973.

David Werner - Can't Imagine
#davidwerner #70srock

David Werner should have been big. He was talented. This track came from his excellent self-titled LP, released in 1979. Unfortunately, the last album he put out.

Now it took a twist, a happy one, Dr. Feelgood - She Does It Right.

Does anybody in that audience understand that they are in the presence of the one an only Wilco Johnson (RIP) who would influence some of the greatest guitarists of the post-punk movement.

He also cut Ned Starks head off in Game of Thrones :)

and that's it. I'm leaving Spasticus Autisticus playing in my headphones and I'll turn it off when I'm dressed.
