Officiating at a Scottish athletics championship in June: 12°C, pouring with rain, thunder and lightning; interspersed with spells of sunshine and clouds of steam rising from the track.

The only concession to the weather is high jump is indoors and everything was suspended for 20 mins when the lightning was directly overhead.

Right, we've had spring, winter, autumn, spring again, winter again, and now spring again here in Melbourne, and we're only 4 hours in. What's not to like?

I'm now going for a walk, with a brolly, up to Sydney Road to do some window shopping, mostly food related.
