This is one of several records that I rescued from being thrown away as they’d often receive duplicates at (KYAK)/KGOT. (1987-1991)

Michel Fugain & le Big Bazar "Une Belle Histoire" FR CBS 1972

A recurring theme since the 1990s for me is that I get interested in a particular style because I touch upon it in Japanese pop, be it bossa nova or Hawaiian AOR. Case in point: Michel Fugain has a long string of pop hits in France, with this song being one his biggest. So big that led to numerous covers. I first heard this song covered by Circus in 1978 titled "Mr. Summertime".

Chilliwack "Lonesome Mary" CA A&M 1971

Though most known in the US for their 1981 hit "My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)", Chilliwack (based in Vancouver, BC, and named after a city in the lower mainland) can trace their origin back to the 1960s. This single was their first Canadian Top 10.

Roberta Flack "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" b/w "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" US Atlantic unknown (maybe 1980s) pressing

Roberta Flack's career got a real boost when Clint Eastwood used "The First Time" in his directorial debut *Play Misty For Me*. Song became her first number one single. "Will You Still Love Me" was not the first Carole King song she did, having done a cover of "You've Got A Friend" with Donny Hathaway.
