Next album featured this, his biggest hit; #1 in Canada, Top 5 in the US and on the Canadian and US Adult Contemporary (Easy Listening) chart.

As a kid, this was the #1 âplay it againâ tape I owned.
As soon as it was over, you just flipped it over and did it again.
Every one of these songs are etched on my 14 year old brain forever.
âWaiting Roomâ is clearly brilliant, but growing up, it was âBad Mouthâ for me.
THAT song was one of the first handful of songs that my first band and I ever learned.
Weâd play it at birthday parties or whatever drunken âmy parents are out of townâ fiesta, and people thought it was our tune. đ

Neil Sedaka "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" US Rocket/MCA 1975
We recently lost Neil Sedaka, one of the great singer/songwriters. This is his redo of his 1962 smash, this time done as a slow ballad (starting with a snippet of the original). While didn't get back to #1 like his hits "Laughter In The Rain" or "Bad Blood", it did go Top 10 on the pop chart in the US and #1 on the AC chart. On Elton John's Rocket label, named after an early locomotive.

Simply Red "A New Flame" UK Elektra/WEA 1989
For their 3rd album, Simply Red released a series of limited edition 10" singles.. This is the third single and title track for the album. It came after the band's worldwide hit cover of the Philly Soul classic "If You Don't Know Me By Now". "A New Flame" didn't do nearly as well, barely charting in the UK. Extra tracks on this single include a live version of Howlin' Wolf's "I Asked Her For Water".

38 years ago today, February 20, 1988, Exile debuted at #67 on Billboardâs Hot Country Singles chart with âFeel Like Foolinâ Aroundâ. It went on to peak at only seven notches higher at #60 and spent a total of 4 weeks on the chart.
If I remember correctly, we played this song for only about a week, then it was dropped from the rotation at KYAK, the station I used to work for.

Top-shelf primo German #synthpop from the #80s for last (and short) spin of the night.
Thereâs something about the creepy drumbeat and eerie synth on âBirds And Dogsâ that gets me. Sounds like something Buffalo Bill would dance around to nude in Silence Of The Lambs. đ
If you have the chance to listen to the first three Twins records (Modern Lifestyle is my favorite), I highly recommend that you do. ESPECIALLY if youâre a fan of the genre.
Twins had a great run.
SIX albums over twelve years starting in â81, and then a SURPRISINGLY good reunion album called Living For The Future after being dormant for 25 years.
Excellent band.
