As an avowed cinephile, I feel an intense thrill of anticipation when I see a movie studio's opening logo appear at the start of a film. This is my version of the RKO Pictures logo animation, used as the lead before films made from 1929 to 1960.
The logo's transmitter was originally inspired by the 200 foot Tesla Coil built at Pike's Peak in Colorado; the building beneath the tower (difficult to see, and removed in later versions) was the laboratory for Tesla's electrical experiments. Fairly dilapidated in the references I found, I used the more complete and wonderfully odd structure at Wardenclyffe Tower, built by Tesla at Shoreham, New York in 1905.
