3D Gaussian Splats, point clouds, dinosaurs, mummies, portals… A real-time flythrough of the beautiful Redpath Museum, captured using the PortalCam from XGRIDS. It’s been about two weeks since we received the PortalCam at Dpt., and my obsession with volumetric capture is back in full force (well, it never really left). I would have loved to do more captures already, but that’s just a matter of time. I’m re-immersing myself in a SLAM-based capture workflow; learning how to best handle the device, its different modes, and how it behaves across very different scales, from large architectural spaces down to finer details. There are still tests and iterations to be done, but it’s already clear that the PortalCam has earned its place in our capture toolkit. #GaussianSplatting #3DGS #pointcloud #3D #3dscanning #PortalCam | 10 comments on LinkedIn

My Antigravity A1 arrived Dec 9th (ordered Dec 4th)! Batteries charging, then FAA registration & 40-min firmware update. 70mph winds in Cheyenne mean waiting to fly, but I'm pumped to create 3D Gaussian splats with the 360° camera. What should I capture first? Until next flight, stay safe and fly often! #AntigravityA1 #DronePilot #AerialPhotography #360Camera #DroneLife #NewDroneDay #3DGaussianSplat #WyomingDrones
Been playing with Luma AI the last couple nights. It’s an app and cloud service for turning videos into 3D scans and they support Gaussian splats. Watch the reflections in the wood floor, not something a traditional mesh generation can do. 🤯 #lumaAI #3dGaussianSplat
