I wanted to capture a the flavor of the “shadow" type style that was available on classic MacOS, so I broke out https://infinitemac.org/ and used Photoshop 3 on System 7.5 for the layout. Started with a Chicago P (italic + shadow), then tweaked and added circle layers.
For plotting, I ran the image through https://github.com/abey79/vpype-pixelart using the “big” mode, which maps each pixel to a 5x5 square spiral.
