8 in #36daysoftype ended up being about optical interference and dot grids.

I set this up in vsketch, using a distance function to define the circles that make up the 8 and rotating them about 10° around the center of each half.

I didn't have the preview quite dialed in well enough with the right dot sizes, so I ended up plotting quite a few variants of color, dot fill, and rotation point before getting something with enough contrast to shine.
