365 Recap. Part 1
It doesn’t count without some sort of a recap I guess. Here‘s my first sketch of the year 2023. That day, I didn’t think I’ll continue sketching daily. It was just a nice day away with the extended family — the perfect time and environment for a creative outlet. A few days after that I took part in the 365 challenge. In a few month, my ink drawings got a lot more detailed and accurate! Here are some of my favourites ✨
365/365 What I nice way to finish a year-long daily sketching challenge by rapidly painting the rising tide! Alex was playing on his own for the first time that long, people got worried about who he was with as he seemed so independent (and alone 😅) but Tolya and I were watching him from a distance, sipping our coffees, discussing future art plans.

364/365 Made a pencil sketch on location, Alex was so fussy that I had to finish painting at home. I am not super happy with my use of the white gelly pen on this one. Glad I took a photo before knocking myself out with it 💀 But my best sketch of the day happened later when Alex asked me to draw his cement truck 🥰 I’m so pleased with this one ))

361/365 Alex feels better — it’s such a relief and uplifting! Finally, I was able to look around and realise that soon it would be time to take down the decorations. I’m not ready for it, the holidays flew by too quickly. Here is my sketch of some Christmas tree decorations as I saw them in the dim light.

360/365 Alex is sick, and Tolya’s limping, so the Holidays aren’t as fun as they could have been. Our outdoor adventures are super short. For the second day in a row, we drive to the beach that’s a bit closer to the sea (Shoebury Common), than our usual choice of the beach (Chalkwell). It’s a short ride, but the vibes are noticeably different! I love sketching boats by the open water 🛶, calms my mind a little.

358/365 We delivered a postcard for Alex’s friend and saw this big fluffy & extremely friendly cat. The pic is done by photo, last minute before going to bed. It’s still a bit wet but posting anyway.
