Circularium Simia.

The last one in this series, a circularium (as I call them, this is not a real word). Making this one was a bit hard because I couldn't find quite an interesting perspective to center the sphere around. Anyway, tried to be innovative here and dragged the center upward making the monkey face stretched sideways - why? I don't know! I just felt like doing it.
For last touches, I've added some glow around the globe. As usual, these images were saved as PNG and the background should be transparent actually. As a reminder, the first one was shot at f/8 and the second at f/2.8.

The World Under (2).

So, I've stopped this series of this panorama to post about another series. I think I still have 2 more pieces to post from this panorama still.
This is a vertical projection but in Mercator format. I've posted a vertical one before and it was elongated and slender; The Mercator version is more broad and squarish. As usual, the first one is the version shot at f/8 and the second one is the version shot at f/2.8; and apparently there is a bit of difference in perspective because of some movement in the tripod while doing the two shoots.

The World Under.

Time for a vertical version of this panorama. This time I did it without the Mercator projection style (which would make the image more square-ish). I might, though do that later if I get the time to 😬
The vertical rendition done with the spherical projection like in these two makes the image too slender (and often some cropping would be needed to the sides so it turns even slenderer); and sometimes platforms are hostile to such format **COUGH**IG**COUGH** ... ahem.
Anyway, as usual here, the first one was shot at F/8 and the second one was shot at F/2.8.

Twisted Thoughts

Still with our monkey panorama and this time with a "style" rather than a projection, and I don't usually do it much because... well... I don't find it surreal or creative enough - so I'll leave it to you to decide!
I personally call this style "Sinusoidal" (with apologies to people who hate math and trigonometry).
As the usual, the first one is the one shot at F/8 and the second one was shot at F/2.8. The one shot was F/8 actually does look more like a painting to me and I tried to change this aspect when I tone-mapped the original HDR, but details won't just be clear except with such parameters. Not saying it's bad, but it wasn't my original aim really.

A Gloomy Night Over Monkey Island.

Today, we have the 3rd "installment" of this panorama, and with what I call "tunnel view" (which essentially is just the reverse or the little planet projection). Funny thing that I've used the term "tunnel view" even before my diagnosis with Retinitis Pigmentosa back in 2013*.
Again with two versions here, the first being the original or first one shot at f/8 and the second was the one shot at f/2.8. The first one had this green cast and paint-like look that I couldn't adjust whatever and however I edited it. Maybe some would like the paint-like look (and at some point it is nice indeed) but I was aiming for more "dark" look so to say, and this is what the second version achieved.

* One of the critical symptoms of Retinitis Pigmentosa is that the person would suffer from tunnel vision; but this is also relevant to the genetic mutation involved as some would lose the central vision instead, but the tunnel vision is probably the most common issue with people suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Golden Chopsticks (2011).

I miss this place so much. It closed down in 2014, and I might as well say that it was the beginning of my isolation trip, sorta. In this place I used to meet friends and stay up late and even chitchat with the owner till it's over midnight sometimes after the closing time. When friends disappeared one by one as they went on with their lives, I used to come here alone just to have some peace time away from a place that ironically I call "home". After it closed down, I literally had no place to be, to find peace in, except of my room.
I think as we age, much of what we like around us just disappears gradually, and an old dog can't learn new tricks, nor adapt.

UV Pano Test (2016).

Almost got this day as a vacation but decided to post something just now. Woke up so late today and been busy doing chores around the house. Anyway, I don't have much to post, nothing new. So, decided to go back to this one (again), and this time I think this one was done with Mercator projection.
I like it, but back then I didn't because I was looking into the technical aspects of the shoot rather than the aesthetics. When I realized that I've been actually shooting IR more than UV because of the leakage in the filter, I lost my interest in it. I've shot some IR panoramas with various IR filters, but yet I have to see a way to shoot a true UV pano.

So, I've posted a circularium yesterday for this panorama, which was a UV test back in 2016 (when I first got that UV filter). This is one of the early versions of that panorama. Probably I didn't publish that much on other platforms.

Circularium Ultraviolacea (2016).

Aaaaaand the last circularium! This one was actually a test. The panorama was shot with then-new B+W 049 UV-Pass filter (hope I got the name right, sometimes it's also called "black filter"). Back then, I just had a modified camera for full spectrum photography and didn't know much about UV photography. As time went by, I've realized that I've been shooting mostly infrared actually and not pure UV as such filters leak a lot of IR by nature of design. Professional UV filters are way, way, more expensive. The solution to this problem was to get an IR-block filter and place it on top of the UV-pass filter but that wouldn't happen til some years afterward (and it was also a story on its own).
This panorama was also a test for this lens, Voigtländer 20mm, for panorama shooting. My typical lens for panoramas is 15mm as it provides the adequate amount of perspective and number of shots. Working with 20mm proved to be difficult and requires a staggering amount of shots for a single panorama, and this is even without shooting for HDR.

Circularium Genii 2 (2019)

I couldn't resist the temptation to make a glow for this one as well. I tried also to add a 3D-ish effect, but I don't think I made it right still.
Notice that the background is transparent (so if the page is displayed in white, the glow might be barely visible).
