#30DaysWild Day 13: A trip along the M58 to and from Wigan may not sound like an opportunity to connect with nature but you seem always guaranteed to see a kestrel out hunting.

Day 12 of #30DaysWild

Finally put the pasta bowl on the patio & filled it with water for wildlife. Added a smooth brick pebble to create an island for insects to land & drink :)

#30DaysWild Day 12: I am just back from a walk up to the fields that back on to my garden, to see if anything was about this evening. Plenty of bats hunting along the hedgerows. And possibly a tawny dropping into the far side of the field. One used a post in my own garden last year, but has failed to return once I installed a camera.
Today is day 12 of #30DaysWild & we show #geology 😻Something wild happend to this #rock that we found during #hedgewatch. Its a #breccia -a rock brocken into pieces-the dark pawts-by mighty forces & later glued together again(white stuff)

Day 11 of #30DaysWild

Birding while out running errands:

Mallard duck flypast;
Male blackbird pulling worms then flying off with a beakful, presumably back to the nest;
Loads of slowly circling Red Kites;
Goldfinch twittery song twice;
Explosive wren song across the supermarket car park;
Couple of passing herring gulls.

All I did was look & listen out while doing weekly routine stuff.

#30DaysWild Day 11: I don't see daisies as often these days. It seems that most fields and patches of grass are filled with dandelions instead.

Day 10 of #30DaysWild

Feeling better after a few days of bleurgh, I thought I'd catch the dusk chorus.

Sitting by the best window for this, nothing but magpies having a free and frank exchange of views. Oh, and the mew of a passing herring gull before the magpies resume their altercation.

Twenty days remain to catch the sweet song of the summer warblers.

#30DaysWild Day 10: watching and listening to a nighttime storm blow through from a bedroom window. The weather reminding us that it can be wild.
#30DaysWild Day 9: I am currently sat in my back garden waiting to see of the bats will return to hunt over my #SayNoMow lawn.
