Last week was the #2m Spring Sprint. Band conditions were a bit flat, but I did work several regulars in 6 grids, mostly to my north. I heard a little bit of DX out towards Ohio, but I wasn't able to break
the ~275mi (~440km) barrier. Oh well.

Hope to be on the #222MHz Sprint this upcoming Tuesday.

Auch im Februar wieder beim 2 m Einsteigercontest aktiv gewesen 📡

Mit meinem Rufzeichen DO1DN konnte ich diesmal den 7. Platz in der Novice-Level-Klasse erreichen.

Der Contest macht jedes Mal wieder Spaß – viele nette QSOs und eine gute Gelegenheit, die eigene Station weiter zu testen und zu verbessern.

Additionally, before I had a play on 23cms, my good friend @DafyddJack activated the summit on #2m and #70cm using just a couple of older mono-band handhelds he picked up for a bargain price. Using just a whip antenna, he managed to work a station in Lockerbie in Scotland!

Is the IC-905 an ideal SOTA radio? No. But you can absolutely do a #SOTA activation with one, and I'll do it again. Many times. This was the summit of Penycloddiau today (GW/NW-054).
