The Ingenues were a vaudeville all-female #Jazz band, all multiinstrumentalists (they had to know how to play at least 8 different instruments to join), active between 1925 and 1937.

The group toured Europe, South Africa, Asia, Australia, Brazil and appeared in film shorts. They headlined the Ziegfield Folies of 1927.

Song: Was I Supposed To Care?
Band: Hoodoo Gurus

It’s #AlternateFridayMusic with a Queer prompt. Thought I’d go for a #Queer theme and legitimise it with a statement by the artist

“There were definitely a few out queer teachers and other adults in my life who were role models for me as a young person, just seeing them exist and have good lives”

Artist: Eli Conley
Song: Hey that’s me
Album: Searching For What's True
Released: 2023
Video: https://youtu.be/sO0luAGU5sA

Lyrics
“There may come a time when your body don't feel easy
And in order to be free it has to change
There may come a time when your gender it just fractures
And you have to take some action, rearrange
If it's that time you've got to tell 'em who you are
When you've been asking every star that they would see…”
