I’m reading an article how the name and branding of “Arrowhead Stadium” and “GEHA Field” will be changed during the World Cup, per FIFA contract rules. It’ll just be called “Kansas City Stadium”.

So digital maps, Siri, and other voice assistants, along with state signage that points the way to Arrowhead will be “wrong”. International visitors will see “Kansas City Stadium” on tickets and other printed media, but goods luck asking your phone to drive you there.

I just asked Siri to “take me to Kansas City Stadium” and she routed me to Sporting KC soccer stadium in KCK, not Arrowhead in KCMO. #WorldCup2026 #2026WorldCup

I'm doing some research on the various World Cup teams who are playing in or using the Kansas City area as their basecamp. Something I uncovered is disturbing and I think under-reported. Fan from both Algeria and Tunisia face a $15,000 US visa bond to travel here.
