In 2023, news about obesity and health was stunningly good at times and extremely frustrating at others. Here is the best and worst of it.

Bonus mention:
Having missed both“Hereditary “ and “Midsommar” in their original debuts, my best friend treated me to both these films whilst visiting him in Washington on vacation. They round out the latest films I got to enjoy during the final bits of 2023.

And I am realizing that I am real late in seeing these twisted pieces of art, but after “Beau Is Afraid”, I was eager to see what else Ari Aster had in the his hand in creating. And in the end, I too was left buying into the hype around these two pieces. Many kudos onto creative folks behind and in front of the camera that worked to bring this all to life.

Also, Toni Collette continues to deserve all the things and Florence Pugh served in her performance as well.

With “Babylon”, “The Adults” and “Beau Is Afraid”, I didn’t know what I would be getting into. But each of them were strong pieces held up by stellar performances throughout.

I love film, but during 2023 I felt overwhelmed by the huge amount of choice in terms of interesting storytelling in film and television. This led me to stick to a few series that I could easily squeeze in between work and leisure. But that changed when the holidays came in the second half of 2023 and I took moments to enjoy cinematic storytelling again.

Of the films watched recently, I walked away from “Of An Age”, “Past Lives” and “A Thousand and One” having felt more human for the experience. Cried massive tears feeling along with each films lead actor. Fell in love again with the art of a great portrayal and writing.

As each film offered a unique story and struggle that was extremely easy to connect with, and sometimes even correlate with personal life experiences, I can only recommend giving each a watch.

My Xbox Year in Review. I do mostly streaming & casual games so I don't have a huge list of major games played outside of Starfield & Halo Infinite sadly.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Is it too early for a "year in review" picture post? 😁#2023yearinreview
Here’s my #NintendoSwitch #2023YearInReview. Despite playing a lot less this year, I still played the Switch more than I thought. Oh, and I ended up guessing my top game correctly! WarioWare, Super Mario Advance 4, and Kuru Kuru Kururin all got a lot of play on the GBA app, so I figured it would be at the top. Also, you can tell which month I really got into my Steam Deck and which month I was really sick. #NintendoSwitchOnline #GBA #SNES #SuperMarioBrosWonder
