Welcomed sleep and greeted Sunday with Drauf Und Dran by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, released in 2020 on Gronland

Roedelius ... explains Drauf Und Dran: "The tracks released on this album originate from various creative periods of my career...the piano; it, or rather its expressive possibilities, is now my main interest. Drauf Und Dran is meant as a milestone and a guidepost, as a kind of musical peephole through the 'iron' curtain of what is familiar, perfected and conventional in music and into a sound universe that has officially only yet been explored cursorily. Varying piano string vibrations create interferences, overtones and undertones in the fading reverberation of pointedly accentuated." - Gronland.

Three is the twenty-first studio album by Australian improvised music trio The Necks released in 2020.

Pitchfork's Colin Joyce called the album "slow, winding, and meditative" noting it was "composed almost entirely of piano, bass, and drums, and builds outwards from minimal meanderings to overgrown thickets of instrumentation".. In The Quietus Johnny Lamb concluded "It really is outstanding work on all fronts. Each track here has a distinct and complementary topography. Places to explore, spend time in, and marvel at. The Necks remain at the top of their game". JazzTimes reviewer Morgan Enos said "it proves that after tilling the same patch of creative terrain for their entire career, the Necks can still manage a late-period streak of excellence". - Wikipedia

Welcomed sleep and then greeted the new day after my swim with Nomad by TENGGER. released on Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records in 2020.

Dive into Nomad and there’s a feeling of constant motion. Not the rushed or hurried motion that comes from being crushed into a throng of workers on their way to a day’s wage, but a more natural sense of order and flow. Within pieces like the Krautrock-flecked “Eurasia,” the quivering opener “Achime,” and the aptly-titled closer “Flow,” the band adopts the serene sweep of trickling waters and the precise yet natural movement of molecules. ...TENGGER bring about the kind of meditative calm that’s often attached to the New Age, but they lift the genre off of the thrift store shelves and yoga studio tape decks and elevate its bliss into a new era of Kosmiche transcendence. - Bandcamp

The album “Haven” offers 10 new tracks, each being their own tribute to nature. The sound is still warm, dreamy, spacious and airy with captivating melodies and a dynamic groovy meditation where acoustic unites with the electronic. - Bandcamp

Kwiatostan by Bloto, released on Astigmatic Records in 2020.

It cannot be ignored that the entire globe at the beginning of the 21st century stinks of smog, tear gas used to break up protests, and the sour sweat of politicians. The earth is eroding not only due to water, wind, sun or gravity, but mainly as a result of human activity. The Błoto quartet communicated these problems on their first album. It turned out that we operate in a world in which the cover of ‘Erosion' quickly turned out to be prophetic. Inflorescence grows on the ruins of a world devastated by erosion - a new system of branching shoots ending with flowers. In 2020, most of the petals, pistils and stamens are surprisingly pale as they are constantly suppressed by the system in which they thrive, preventing flowers their lush colours and right to diversity. Just like police states that keep an eye on society.

Different Geographies
by Collectress, released on Peeler records in 2020.

Different Geographies is a record named in response to the realities of collaboration. Collectress honour intuition and process – music emerges on the fly or is spun from long periods of playing and sharing; talking and swapping. Their compelling narratives are dark and light by turns, cellos sing over jagged krauty synth harmonies, electronic glitches interrupt melodic violin lines, handmade percussion and found sound weave among layered vocals and well-directed mischief. - Bandcamp

Ended the weekend and welcomed the week after a swim with Ghosts VI: Locusts the eleventh studio album by the American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. It was released as a free download on March 26, 2020, as a show of solidarity with the band's fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

...Spin's John Paul Bullock thought that the record was "much more menacing" than Ghosts V, adding that "there's a feeling of forward momentum to the entire album but we might not like where it's headed." Remarking that "things sound and feel more industrialised" on Ghosts VI, Sputnikmusic's staff critic Simon referred to the album as "an all-out Lynchian nightmare." Neil Z. Yeung made a similar comparison in the review for AllMusic, remarking "A stray discordant key here, an ominous atmospheric sound effect there, Locusts may not offer any hope or solace, but it's objectively the more interesting experience." - Wikipedia
