Are there any #2000wattsociety participants here in the Washington area?
Seeing how far into the Atlanta summer we can get without using air conditioning. Fans (three of them) use around 50 watts each, compared with probably over 1000 watts for AC. Cold showers become pleasant. It does get humid here which will reduce fan viability as we get further into the summer months. #2000wattsociety
Unit conversions:
1 kWh = 3.6 MJ (megajoules)
1 US gallon gas = 33.4 kWh = 120 MJ

Embodied energy of building materials (Australian, but should be within a small factor of values for USA)

After reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000-watt_society I have a few questions --

Is anybody publicly collating embodied energy costs for different products and/or materials?

Any foundations or other efforts focusing on framing this question in a North American context?
