You are more or less where I was about 3 months ago. That's when I cut my bird site usage considerably and quit trying to argue with people about politics.
I've been focusing on helping #Unity4J, #1vs5i and programming my own opensource stuff to help the cause on the back end. It's made a huge difference on my outlook.
Not telling you what to do or anything, but working on causes rather than this political horse race shit show has done wonders for my mental health. I've been able to help out more for the causes I care about instead of getting trapped in these senseless arguments that won't do shit in the end anyhow.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you stick around, at least on masto :) I would hate to lose your insight and perspective.
