@maru she made a small series on neolithic flax processing tools and reconstructed a hackle among other things https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QBnPuzY1GUQ

Is there maybe an online #1qmlein project hub or regional group where you are?

Edit: I somehow copied the link to one of the suggested videos instead of the actual video, now hopefully linking the right one

Making a Neolithic Thorn Flax Hackle

#FiberFlaxProject #1qmlein week 2. These pictures are from yesterday, 14 days after sowing the flax seeds. I put a net over the tiny plants last week but will need to take it off again because now the weeding starts. Not many weeds yesterday but when I took a look this morning I saw that the weeds are coming up!
@maru I've sown mine yesterday! So nice to see other #1qmlein on here and seeing how it's going :)
#1qmlein heute ausgesät... etwas spät? Ist aber auch #Scharnhorst #südheide - also kälter als anderswo.
The flax took a week to germinate #FiberFlaxProject #1qmlein
Dividing the flax seeds in 20 hopefully somewhat equal portions to sow 2 sq. meters

Prepared the soil (2 sq meters) for the flax. I prepared another bed before but this one is in a sunnier spot. Very unlike me: I dug the soul 2 spades deep. As we say. I think it was necessary because there were a lot of weed roots deep down (field bindweed). Hope I got rid of it. Now my back aches but I’m happily stretched out on the sofa #oyeah

Flax to linen: from sowing to sewing.

As a break from scything videos, this is an overview of my venture into flax processing from seed to thread. The simple cloth and thread I've managed to prod...

@maru is it the same project as #1qmlein
