My #1p4floss today are #TriliumNext and #godotengine Foundation. Two open source projects that have been touching my life and engrossing attention.
Trilium for continuing to be an excellent personal knowledge base with ample room to grow, both in content and features.
Godot Engine for being a venue for long dormant dream of game making, and a means for my son to teach me tech things I don't know.
I've been falling behind my 1% target, and that's okay. The number is aspirational! The real point is building the habit of thinking about those people whose activities support my exploration, and sending a little something out in turn.
QGIS 3D for Open Source Digital Twins crowdfunding - if you've been holding out, waiting for that moment, it might be right now! The campaign ends in 6 days

"...promises a whole range of useful functionalities when working with 3D data. There is a lot of focus on improving support for vector layers in 3D map views, together with addition of scene layers from ESRI, with various rendering quality and performance improvements. We are again partnering with North Road, one of the leading contributors to QGIS, to work together on the implementation."
this #1p4floss is a repeat for Elian Doran, who continues to keep the #Trilium engine moving and growing.

A few months ago I had fanciful imaginings I would be one of the ones who would be helping to make/keep Trilium Next be vibrant and alive. Nope! I can't even keep up with Elian on reading what he's up to, let alone documentation, issue management, or programming.
So I'll just get behind and blow a little bit o' wind at his sails 🌬️
Another #1p4floss today is Nriver for the #TriliumNext #python toolkit https://github.com/Nriver/trilium-py.
trilium-py made my migration to Trilium from Onenote possible to contemplate, and then carry out. Now that I've pretty much transitioned, I'm looking forward to the other endeavours it will let me get my arms around!
Feature-rich Python client for interacting with the API and ETAPI of Trilium Notes. 用于与Trilium Notes的API和ETAPI交互的Python多功能客户端 - Nriver/trilium-py
Today's #1p4floss is for Elian Doran, whose taken on the lead developer role for #TriliumNext after Zadam's Trilium went into maintenance only mode in late 2023. Since July 2024 Elian has shepherded a steady series of beta and stable releases, 27 at today's count.
Thank you Elian!
Turns out, building a habit of contribution is actually kind of difficult. Even though I'm now at a place in my life where I can afford to give regularly, and I'm philosophically and emotionaly motivated to, carrying out is fitful
The gaps in the floor I fall into and fail to climb out of expeditiously:
- to project, or to individual
- payment method
- utility vs art vs fun
- social importance
- personal
Each of these have enough material for blog post, essay, or meditative contemplation weekend
Strangely, it's not amount so much. I expected more there
