Pretty hard one to forget this one considering the subject matter and the harrowing plane crash that opens the movie.
Another film I had to look up on Wikipedia just to remember. Seems it was quite well received at the time. Might be worth a rewatch.
Robert Downey Jr is great in this and it looks stunning, but the best thing about this movie is John Barry’s gorgeous score.

I love a good comedy caper with an all-star cast, and this is one of the best of them.
Harrison Ford was the best Jack Ryan. Both this and Clear and Present Danger are great films.
Trailer for this looks great! Reckon this is worth a rewatch. Screenwriter Jeffrey Boam died way too young.
I’ve got a soft spot for David Fincher’s debut. I don’t think it’s as bad as its reputation suggests. It manages to feel like its own thing while still sitting firmly in the Alien universe. I’ve never seen the Assembly Cut, but apparently it’s now available on HBO Max.
Who knew this Jean-Claude Van Damme/Dolph Lundgren vehicle was directed by Roland Emmerich? A man who made a career out of prioritising spectacle over character and story. Pretty sure this one had neither. I probably loved it at the time.
