Robert Downey Jr is great in this and it looks stunning, but the best thing about this movie is John Barry’s gorgeous score.

Apparently this is now a “gay cult classic”. At the time I was there for Robert Zemeckis and the groundbreaking VFX. Feels more relevant now than ever. #botox #fillers #ozempic
I love a good comedy caper with an all-star cast, and this is one of the best of them.
Harrison Ford was the best Jack Ryan. Both this and Clear and Present Danger are great films.
Trailer for this looks great! Reckon this is worth a rewatch. Screenwriter Jeffrey Boam died way too young.
I’ve got a soft spot for David Fincher’s debut. I don’t think it’s as bad as its reputation suggests. It manages to feel like its own thing while still sitting firmly in the Alien universe. I’ve never seen the Assembly Cut, but apparently it’s now available on HBO Max.
Who knew this Jean-Claude Van Damme/Dolph Lundgren vehicle was directed by Roland Emmerich? A man who made a career out of prioritising spectacle over character and story. Pretty sure this one had neither. I probably loved it at the time.
This was billed as the return of Robert Altman, but it was the first I’d heard of him - I hadn’t even seen his ill-fated Popeye. I do remember enjoying it though, and the sheer number of big-name stars popping up was unusual - not something I’d really experienced since The Cannonball Run.
Probably my favourite Batman film, and yes, that includes Nolan’s efforts. It improves on every aspect of the original. Like a darker take on the campness of the old TV series. DeVito and Pfeiffer make wonderfully contrasting baddies. Plus, penguins.
I think I always found the Wayne’s World schtick a bit cringe.
