Look at this great annual report I just picked up at the 34 Trinity $5 book sale. I wonder who designed it.

1971 The Cover Art of 'Purple' by the Eagles, 1971
The image depicts an album cover for 'Purple' by the Eagles.
It features a surrealistic scene with a man and woman lying face down on a ground covered in red, possibly blood.
Above them is a purple, cloud-like sky with a large hand reaching out from above.
There are three floating orbs to the right of the couple.
The style of the image appears to be a fusion of realism for the figures and a more abstract or dreamlike quality for the background.

This comb-bound book is one of our favorites, documenting the rise of experimental phototypesetting. In this example, a Basel-based company distorts type and artwork using their FOTOMAGIC overlay optical units.
